Dental prostheses are materials that aim to restore the former function, phonation and aesthetics of the teeth with a lot of substance loss or the teeth that have been lost for various reasons.
They are prostheses that are adhered with a special material and cannot be put on or removed by the patient himself. It can be designed with tooth or implant support.
Metal-supported porcelain: These are prostheses made of porcelain on a metal infrastructure. It is generally used in long tooth cavities. Since the metal substructure does not transmit light, it may cause a dull appearance and dark discolorations on the gingival margins.
Zirconium: These are prostheses made of porcelain on a zirconium infrastructure. Since its substructure is white, there is no dark discoloration on the gingival margins and it provides an appearance close to the natural tooth because it has light transmission. It is durable and aesthetic.
Emax: They are very aesthetic because they pass the light very well. It is used in anterior group teeth. It is not recommended to be used in posterior group teeth because of its low fracture resistance.
They are prostheses that can be put on and removed by the patient himself.
Full dentures: These are prostheses made by taking support from bone and surrounding tissues in cases where there are no teeth in the mouth. According to the patient’s expectations, implant supported removable full dentures can also be made.
Partial dentures: They are the preferred dentures in cases where fixed teeth cannot be applied in patients with partial tooth deficiency.
Classic partial dentures: There are metal hook extensions extending to the support teeth.
Precision-retained prosthesis: These are aesthetic prostheses that are attached to the support tooth from the inside without any extension visible from the outside.
Deflex prosthesis: It does not contain metal alloys as in other removable prostheses. It is made entirely of a special acrylic. It is light. It is aesthetic because the hook extending to the support teeth is pink. The disadvantage compared to other removable partial dentures is that it cannot be repaired when broken.
